Basketball Recap: Garland Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Garland Christian Academy saw some tournament action on Friday. They were beaten by the Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool Warriors 76-30. While losing is never fun, the Swordsmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1093rd, while the Warriors are ranked 112th).

Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wyatt Huston out in front who went 9 of 15 en route to 22 points. What's more, Huston also racked up two assists, the most he's had since back in November. Another player making a difference was Toby Pike, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.

Garland Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Garland Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 73-61 victory against Cristo Rey Dallas College Prep on the 20th. As for Parker-Tarrant HomeSchool, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 50-38 win against Victory Christian Academy on the 20th.
