The Canyon Hills Rattlers are taking a road trip to challenge the Mira Mesa Marauders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon Hills' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so Mira Mesa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Canyon Hills took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Scripps Ranch, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rattlers came out on top in a nail-biter against the Falcons on Thursday, sneaking past 3-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rattlers.

Natalye Debus spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Karalyne Tabada, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mira Mesa). They put the hurt on Madison with a sharp 18-3 win on Thursday. The victory was familiar territory for the Marauders, who have now won four matchups in a row.
Brooklyn Haug made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Haug was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Carla Murguia was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Taylor Lao, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double.
Mira Mesa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .735. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Canyon Hills' record is now 12-6. As for Mira Mesa, their record now sits at 9-11.
Canyon Hills couldn't quite get it done against Mira Mesa when the teams last played back in March of 2024 as they fell 6-1. Can the Rattlers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
