Basketball Recap: Heartland Christian Takes a Loss

Heartland Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 50-37 to the Cedar Bluffs Wildcats. Heartland Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cedar Bluffs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Cedar Bluffs' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dawson Novotny, who posted 13 points. Novotny is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Another player making a difference was Carter Eiring, who almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Heartland Christian's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Cedar Bluffs, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-11.

Heartland Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cornerstone Christian School on February 3rd. Cedar Bluffs has already played their next game, a 57-37 loss against College View Academy on the 27th.
