Baseball Game Preview: Springfield Cosmos vs. Green Mountain Chieftains

Springfield hasn't had much luck against Green Mountain recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Cosmos will head out to square off against the Chieftains at 4:30 p.m. Springfield has given up an average of 13.3 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Springfield is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They lost 17-6 to Leland & Gray. On the bright side, the six- run effort marked the Cosmos' highest-scoring contest to date.

Meanwhile, Green Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 7-2 to Brattleboro.

Green Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Springfield couldn't quite get it done against Green Mountain in their previous matchup back in April as they fell 8-4. Can the Cosmos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
