Ohio Heritage recap November 5, 2013
Triad extended the longest winning streak in Ohio Heritage this week by beating Catholic Central, 43-6. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Cardinals.
The Irish made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 13,753 from 13,836. The improvement was the result of a 43-6 victory over Catholic Central last week.
Greeneview's dynamic duo of Chance Frye and Mason Gallagher proved to be unstoppable against Mechanicsburg, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Frye threw for 72 yards and 1 touchdown and Gallagher had 45 yards receiving. Klay Partin helped Greeneview's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 16 yards.
Triad's Trent McIntyre and Doug Lowe led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-11 quarterback McIntyre has thrown for 1,932 yards this season, while Lowe has 44 catches for 732 yards. The Indians' Aeryton ERWIN leads the league in rushing yards with 1,531.
Going into this week's game against Cedarville, Payton Printz's team's McIntyre needs 68 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
As it stands, the Cardinals are in first, while the Indians are in fourth.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Triad takes on Cedarville. The Cardinals have allowed 126 points this season, while the Indians have given up 135. Triad allowed 6 points last week as it beat the Irish.
West Liberty-Salem led the league in scoring this week after putting up 55 points on Southeastern Local.
