Recap: Altamonte Christian Eagles vs. Foundation Academy Lions

The Altamonte Christian Eagles put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 46-39 win over Foundation Academy. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 11 more assists than your opponent, as Altamonte Christian did.

Rhyanna Jean continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. She also posted two+ blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexis Hill, who scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.

Despite the defeat, Foundation Academy saw an underclassman step up: Avery Michels scored 19 points. Michels scored a full 48.7% of Foundation Academy's points, the sixth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Emma Parker, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Foundation Academy struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Altamonte Christian's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Foundation Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Altamonte Christian will stay at home for another game and welcome Umatilla at 5:30 p.m. on December 7th. Umatilla is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games. Foundation Academy's road trip will continue as they head out to face Evans at 6:00 p.m. on December 7th. Evans is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
