Football Game Preview: Glenrock Herders vs. Newcastle Dogies + How To Watch

The Glenrock Herders will venture away from home to challenge the Newcastle Dogies at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Glenrock took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They came out on top against Wheatland by a score of 20-7.

Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Newcastle's strategy against Tongue River on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Dogies blew the Eagles out of the water with a 49-1 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Dogies had established a 43-point advantage.

Newcastle's win came from a few key players Glenrock will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Dane Crabtree, who rushed for 92 yards and four scores on only nine carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Teddy Troftgruben, who rushed for 139 yards on only 15 carries.

Newcastle's run defense was locked in: Tongue River could only muster one yards per carry. The Dogies didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.3.

The win got Glenrock back to even at 2-2. As for Newcastle, the victory also got them back to even at 2-2.

Glenrock might still be hurting after the 28-6 defeat they got from Newcastle in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Herders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
