Basketball Recap: Coosa Extends Winning Streak to Two

Dade County came into Friday's contest looking for another win against Coosa, but Jaylen Worfford wouldn't allow it. The Coosa Eagles secured a 52-46 W over the Dade County Wolverines on Friday thanks in part to Worfford, who went 13 of 25 en route to 32 points and six boards. He has become a key player for Coosa: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least 15 points, but 8-11 otherwise.

Reece Fuller was another key player, putting up ten points. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in assists (three).

Dade County's loss came despite strong showings from Jace Anderson and Hutchinson Garmany. Anderson went 6 for 8 to rack up 13 points, while Garmany almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Anderson now owns an excellent 45.9% shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Braydan Jones, who posted six points and eight boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Coosa and bumps their season record up to 12-13. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 6-19 Gordon Lee and 7-18 Dade County. As for Dade County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.

Coosa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 73-50 win against Armuchee on the 10th. As for Dade County, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-48 loss against Gordon Lee on the 10th.
