Baseball Recap: Derry Comes Up Short

Derry fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Knoch on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 2-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Derry saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jon Wasnick, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

Derry has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Knoch, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-10-1 record.

While Derry had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
