            Baseball Preview: Wheeler Eagles vs. Houlka Wildcats        
        
		
        
        
            The Wheeler Eagles will head out on the road to  challenge  the Houlka Wildcats  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Wheeler has given up an average of 8  runs per game this season, but Saturday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles  on Tuesday. Wheeler lost  13-2 to Tupelo Christian Prep. Wheeler has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 Wheeler saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Brayden Edwards, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Houlka was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They took  a  6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Smithville.
  Ryder Wilson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned  (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up six Ks.
 Houlka's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Wheeler, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.
 Wheeler skirted past Houlka  9-8 in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024. Do  the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
