Basketball Recap: Lila Richardson and Katie Ryan Dawson Secure Win for Silliman Institute

After losing to Amite School Center the last time they met, Silliman Institute decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Silliman Institute Wildcats secured a 52-47 W over the Amite School Center Rebels on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wildcats.

Silliman Institute was led to victory by Katie Ryan Dawson and Lila Richardson. Dawson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 14 boards, while Richardson dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. Dawson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Elizabeth Windham, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Silliman Institute pushed their record up to 9-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Amite School Center, their loss dropped their record down to 7-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Silliman Institute Wildcats take on the Columbia Academy Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. Silliman Institute is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.9 points per game this season. As for Amite School Center, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Christian Collegiate Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
