Trinity comes up short despite Jacob Palmer's strong performance

Recap: Trinity Titans vs. Victory Christian Academy Lions

After flying high against the Smith Academy Fighting 54th back in January, the Trinity Titans came back down to earth. Trinity took a 54-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Victory Christian Academy on Friday. While losing is never fun, Trinity can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Victory Christian Academy is ranked 140th).

When it comes to explaining why Trinity lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jacob Palmer. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with five steals. It was the first time this season that Palmer scored 15 or more points. Josh Heintzelman was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.

Trinity has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Victory Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-3 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Trinity will head out on the road to challenge Triton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Victory Christian Academy, they will play host again and welcome Culver Academies, where tip off is scheduled for TBD on Tuesday.
