Softball Recap: Desert Scorpions vs. Mammoth Huskies

Desert can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mammoth Huskies with a sharp 23-3 win. Desert's offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Alayna Phillips was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Phillips was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI.

In other batting news, Desert got a massive performance out of Eden Hewes, who fired off six stolen bases, four runs, and four doubles while going 4-for-4. Rachel Hewes was another key contributor, scoring four runs and stealing nine bases while going 2-for-3.

As for Mammoth, they will play host again on Thursday to welcome Frazier Mountain, where first pitch is scheduled at 3:15 p.m. Mammoth is facing Frazier Mountain at the right time seeing as Frazier Mountain is stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
