Basketball Recap: Seven Straight Home Victories for Pittsfield

Pittsfield entered their tilt with Minnechaug Regional on Monday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Minnechaug Regional Falcons by a score of 46-35. This was a revenge game for the Generals: when they faced off against the Falcons two weeks ago, they had to take a 49-39 defeat.

Pittsfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kyana Summers led the charge by putting up seven points and five steals. Summers has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 21 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madison Stetz, who posted eight points and ten boards.

Pittsfield's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.9 points per game. As for Minnechaug Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Pittsfield won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Chicopee Comp at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Minnechaug Regional, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Minnechaug Regional Falcons take on the Central Golden Eagles at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.
