With a playoff win on the line, North Penn rose to the challenge on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Neshaminy Skins 1-0. The win was familiar territory for the Knights, who have now won eight matchups in a row.

The result came thanks to Trevor Lugara's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, North Penn saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Grattan, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

North Penn's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 23-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Neshaminy, their loss dropped their record down to 17-9.

Coming up, North Penn will face off against Cedar Cliff at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 2.6, the Colts 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned. Neshaminy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
