Basketball Recap: South Florence Bruins vs. Rock Hill Bearcats
South Florence had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 66-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rock Hill Bearcats.
Despite the defeat, South Florence saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Harmony Bostick dropped a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Allyson Watson, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Chloe Hudson was nothing short of spectacular for Rock Hill: she dropped a double-double on 36 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Hudson also racked up nine threes, the most she's had since back in November of 2023. Aubrey Stevenson was another key player, scoring ten points along with six assists and three steals.
South Florence has already played their next game, a 53-30 victory against Silver Bluff on the 23rd. As for Rock Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 80-18 win against Lugoff-Elgin on the 23rd.
