Softball Recap: Izard County Comes Up Short

Izard County might've scored the first runs on Monday, but it was Cedar Ridge who claimed the real prize. The Cougars came up short against the Timberwolves, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Timberwolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-6 back in March.

Kacee Morehead made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Addysyn Kinion was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Izard County dropped their record down to 2-11 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Cedar Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Izard County will face off against rival Sloan-Hendrix at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Cedar Ridge is set to challenge their familiar foe Mammoth Spring at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
