Medina Valley skates past South San Antonio with ease

Recap: Medina Valley Panthers vs. South San Antonio Bobcats

The Medina Valley Panthers scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 63-36 win over South San Antonio on the road. Given Medina Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 619th, while South San Antonio is ranked 1274th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Medina Valley was led to victory by Kyla Carter and Trinity Dixon. Carter scored 16 points along with seven rebounds, while Dixon scored 19 points along with seven steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Carter has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Clarisa Martinez, who scored five points.

The victory makes it two in a row for Medina Valley and bumps their season record up to 12-18. As for South San Antonio, they are on a 20-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-25.

Medina Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Southwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Southwest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday. As for South San Antonio, they will head out on the road to challenge Harlandale at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Harlandale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Tuesday.
