Baseball Game Preview: Coronado Mustangs vs. Caprock Longhorns

For the second straight game, Coronado will face off against Caprock. The Mustangs will venture away from home to face off against the Longhorns at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Coronado will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

On Friday, Coronado got the win against Caprock by a conclusive 13-2. The matchup marked the Mustangs' most dominant victory of the season.

The team relied heavily on Zac Long, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Jaden Lira was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Coronado always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Coronado's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Caprock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-23.
