Basketball Recap: Providence Academy Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

Providence Academy won the last time they faced Waxahachie Prep and things went their way on Thursday too. The Providence Academy Lions walked away with a 40-30 victory over the Waxahachie Prep Warriors. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Lions.

Providence Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kylie Daniels led the charge by putting up 11 points along with six boards and four steals. With that strong performance, Daniels is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. Another player making a difference was Katie Clay, who posted four points and nine steals.

Providence Academy pushed their record up to 16-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 20.3 points per game. As for Waxahachie Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Providence Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Athens Christian Preparatory Academy at 6:00 p.m. As for Waxahachie Prep, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Oakridge at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th.
