Globe hasn't had much luck against Florence recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Gophers at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Wednesday, Globe made easy work of Palo Verde and carried off a 12-2 victory.

The team relied heavily on Jaeger Franco, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Globe: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 3-9 otherwise. Tavie Osorio was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.
Franco wasn't the only one making solid contact: Globe kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Tigers are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Florence got the win against Apache Junction on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-3. With that win, the Gophers brought their scoring average up to 6.3 runs per game.
Adrian Rodriguez made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Tanner Gammons was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Wyatt Stenson, who scored three runs while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Globe's victory ended a 12-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 9-10. As for Florence, their record now sits at 13-6-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Globe has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Florence struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Globe couldn't quite finish off Florence when the teams last played back in March and fell 6-4. Can the Tigers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
