Recap: Far Northeast W Warriors vs. Westminster Wolves
The Far Northeast W Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were dealt a 93-27 defeat at the hands of Westminster. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Far Northeast W in their matchups with Westminster: they've now lost five in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Westminster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brooke Gomez, who dropped a double-double on 30 points and 11 rebounds. Gomez has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alicia Trujillo, who scored 25 points along with four steals.
Far Northeast W's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Westminster, their win bumped their record up to an identical 6-10.
Far Northeast W will be playing at home against Denver South at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Denver South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Far Northeast W in Colorado (Denver South is ranked 97th, while Far Northeast W is ranked 285th). As for Westminster, they will head out on the road to face off against Rangeview at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
