Softball Recap: St. Stephens Indians vs. North Iredell Raiders
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but St. Stephens ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past the North Iredell Raiders 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Indians: when they faced off against the Raiders on Tuesday, they had to take a 4-0 loss.
Anicka McFarland made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than ten strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double.

McFarland wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kallie Canipe, who went 2-for-3 with three runs. Those three runs gave Canipe a new career-high.
