Softball Recap: Union Comes Up Short

Union was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 24-5 to the Lakewood Leopards. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered against the Leopards since May 1, 2018.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Lakewood, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Union will square off against Rosewood at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rosewood's pitching crew has only allowed one run per game this season, so Union's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Lakewood, they will challenge North Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
