            Baseball Recap: Galena Park Yellowjackets vs. Pasadena Memorial Mavericks        
        
		
        
        
            On Friday Galena Park's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single  run of losing the streak, but they secured  a   4-3 W against the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks. For the Yellowjackets, this counts as revenge for the   3-0 victory the Mavericks walked away with the last time they faced one another  back in April of 2023.

 Cesar Amador made a splash while hitting and pitching. He  pitched five innings while giving up  three earned runs off   four  hits. What's more,  he posted three  strikeouts, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-4 with one  triple, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. He also put up a  double, which was his first of the season.
 Amador wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Hector Arrieta, who  scored a  run while  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances.
Galena Park's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Pasadena Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4-1.
 Looking ahead, Galena Park will face off against MacArthur at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. As for Pasadena Memorial, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Shore  at 12:30  p.m.  on Saturday. Pasadena Memorial's pitching crew has only allowed three  runs per game  this season, so North Shore's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
