Basketball Game Preview: Gilman Pirates vs. Cornell Chiefs

The Gilman Pirates and the Cornell Chiefs will round out the year against one another at at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Gilman is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 75-66 win over Bruce on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Meanwhile, Cornell can finally bid farewell to their 11-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game last Friday. They put the hurt on Winter with a sharp 78-58 victory.

Gilman's win bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Cornell, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Gilman didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Cornell in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but they still walked away with a 48-44 win. Will Gilman repeat their success, or does Cornell have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
