Basketball Game Preview: Northwestern Eagles vs. Meadville Eagles

The Northwestern Eagles will square off against the Meadville Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meadville took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Northwestern, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row dating back to last season, Northwestern turned things around against Southwest on Monday. They claimed a resounding 64-32 victory over the Wildcats. The Eagles' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Meadville played a tough matchup on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 84-49 loss at the hands of Green City. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Gophers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Northwestern will have to contain Mason Dennis as he made an impact in Meadville's last game. He went 8 of 17 on his way to 22 points. The contest was Dennis' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Donivan Schreckhise, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Northwestern's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Meadville, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
