Basketball Recap: Butler County Comes Up Short

Butler County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 56-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Calloway County Lakers. While losing is never fun, the Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 57th, while the Lakers are ranked seventh).

Despite the loss, Butler County still got an impressive performance from Briar Griffin, who posted 19 points and five assists. Another player making a difference was Justin Castlen, who scored nine points and seven boards.

Butler County now has a losing record of 11-12. As for Calloway County, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 22-3.

Butler County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-47 victory against Warren Central on the 4th. As for Calloway County, they have also already played their next match, a 67-50 win against Carlisle County on the 3rd.
