Benicia has won seven straight games at home (dating back to last season), while Acalanes has won seven straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Panthers will host the Dons at 4:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Benicia 2.9, Acalanes 2.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Tuesday, Benicia beat El Cerrito 4-1.
Benicia got a great performance from Dominic Louro as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched.
At the plate, Benicia let Nash Rubins and Jackson Habegger run wild. Rubins went 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI, while Habegger went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases. That triple was Rubins' first of the season.
Meanwhile, Acalanes made easy work of Berkeley on Wednesday and carried off a 10-1 win. Considering the Dons have won four games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Gavin Beers looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Keegan Goddard was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Asadorian, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Acalanes always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. The last time their OBP was this high was back in February of 2024.
Acalanes has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Benicia, their win bumped their record up to 8-1.
Both Benicia and Acalanes just can't seem to miss. The Panthers have been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Acalanes struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 4.3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance. Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
