Softball Recap: Tri Titans vs. Randolph Southern Rebels
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tri). They were the clear victors by a 22-8 margin over the Randolph Southern Rebels on Saturday. Considering the Titans have won three matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Ann Bean was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (four). She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, MacKenzie Laurie was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Rylan Mathews, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Tri always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .805. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
