Football Recap: Azusa Takes a Loss

Azusa extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to five on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were dealt a 55-19 defeat at the hands of the Alhambra Moors. The Aztecs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

As for Alhambra, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. That 36 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Halen Tsang continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 119 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also catching one score. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bryan Leonard, who threw for 217 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 73.7% of his passes.

Azusa has already played their next game, a 5-0 loss against Temple City on the 18th. As for Alhambra, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 40-21 win against Wilson on the 19th.
