Softball Recap: Enumclaw Comes Up Short

If Enumclaw was feeling good fresh off their 16-6 takedown of Federal Way on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hornets lost 15-4 to the Auburn Mountainview Lions on Monday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-4 back in April.

Delainey Saw got Enumclaw off to a strong start despite the final result, tossing five innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off seven hits. Saw has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brynn Findley was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Enumclaw's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Auburn Mountainview, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-4.

Looking ahead, Enumclaw will be playing in front of their home fans against Auburn Riverside at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Ravens' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Auburn Mountainview, they have already played their next game, a 22-1 win against Decatur on the 6th.
