Basketball Recap: Cordet Espinoza's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Foothill over Canyon View

Foothill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 59-46 to the Canyon View Jaguars.

Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cordet Espinoza, who posted nine points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clinton Ezugha, who went 5-for-8 to rack up 13 points and five boards.

Foothill's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Canyon View, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season.

Foothill wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-34 win against Varsity Opponent on the 20th. As for Canyon View, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sunrise Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2026.
