Flag Football Game Preview: Central Gwinnett Black Knights vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

The Central Gwinnett Black Knights will venture away from home to square off against the Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Central Gwinnett's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three matchups, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Central Gwinnett and Meadowcreek were almost perfectly matched up, but Central Gwinnett suffered a 14-13 defeat. The loss was the Black Knights' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Winder-Barrow put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Mountain View by a score of 13-0. Give the Bulldoggs' defense some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

The critical scores for Winder-Barrow came from Destiny Heard and Zyani Yancy.

Winder-Barrow didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Kentasia Hardman, Jayden Jackson, and Yancy picked up one apiece.

Winder-Barrow's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Central Gwinnett, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Central Gwinnett was able to grind out a solid win over Winder-Barrow when the teams last played back in October of 2024, winning 19-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Black Knights since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
