The Ontario Christian Knights will face off against the Linfield Christian Lions at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ontario Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.9 runs per game this season.
While Ontario Christian's victory against Arrowhead Christian wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Eagles 6-4. The victory continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won eight in a row.
The team relied heavily on Hannah Demoff, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Tager, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Linfield Christian waltzed into their game on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Cougars 10-4. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 matches by six runs or more this season.
Alexa Ojeda spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on five hits.
On the hitting side, Charli Calas and Sam Deel did most of the damage at the plate: Calas went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two RBI, while Deel went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave Deel a new career-high. Chloe Hill was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.
Linfield Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive contests.
Ontario Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Linfield Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 16-2.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Ontario Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.4 hits per game. However, it's not like Linfield Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
