Basketball Recap: Middletown Christian Skates Past Lockland with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Middletown Christian walked away with it. They blew past the Lockland Panthers 63-25 on Wednesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jaylah Smith, who posted eight points and ten boards. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last 20 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Princes Webster, who earned six points and eight boards.

Middletown Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.1 points over those games. Lockland's loss dropped their record down to 10-14.

Middletown Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-31 defeat against Fort Loramie on the 22nd. Lockland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
