Recap: Elkhart Elks vs. Westwood Panthers

The Elkhart Elks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their eighth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 79-44 loss at the hands of Westwood. Elkhart has struggled against the Panthers recently, as their match on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Westwood found their leader in underclassman Kavian Bryant, who scored 35 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Bryant is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chris Carter, who scored nine points along with six steals and five assists.

Elkhart has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-19 record this season. As for Westwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elkhart will take on the Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Westwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Goats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Groesbeck will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1389th, while the Panthers are ranked 323rd).
