Softball Recap: Piedmont Panthers vs. Anson Bearcats
In what's become a running theme this season, Piedmont gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They never let the Anson Bearcats onto the board and left with a 14-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for Piedmont.
Jailyn Thomas made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and only two hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Thomas has been consistent recently: she hasn't pitched less than five innings in seven consecutive pitching appearances. Thomas was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with an RBI.
In other batting news, Addi Lockrem was excellent, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Charli Lutz was another key contributor, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all two of her plate appearances.
