Football Game Preview: Canton Cobras vs. Northville Mustangs + How To Watch

The Canton Cobras are taking a road trip to take on the Northville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Canton hasn't scored more than six points for five games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Canton's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Howell on Friday. They had to suffer through a 51-0 loss at the hands of the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Cobras can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 316th, while the Highlanders are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, Northville's game on Friday was all tied up 7-7 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brighton. The loss was the Mustangs' first of the season.

Canton will have to keep a close watch on Cooper Derkach and Max DeFore, a pair of players who had a big impact on Northville's prior game. Derkach rushed for 72 yards and one score, while DeFore rushed for 82 yards.

Canton's record now sits at 0-5. As for Northville, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Canton took a serious blow against Northville in their previous meeting back in September of 2024, falling 54-0. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Derkach, who threw for 261 yards and five TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown.
