2A Colorado recap November 5, 2013

Bennett and Olathe played the most contested game in 2A Colorado this week, with Bennett eventually emerging with a 14-13 victory. Tanner Adams threw for 91 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 12 yards during the win.

Kent Denver made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,635 from 4,550. The improvement was the result of a 21-12 victory over Lamar last week.

Joey Matarazzo provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Sun Devils bested the Savages. He completed 10 passes for 132 yards and also ran for 47 yards. Matarazzo's favorite target this week was Jack Raeder, who caught 4 passes for 81 yards.

Adams and Jonathan Cretti gave the Tigers a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week. Zane Alsdorf also contributed to the rushing game with 68 yards on the ground.

On the heels of Matarazzo and Jaden Franklin, Kent Denver has had great success on offense. Matarazzo is tops in the league in passing with 788 yards, while Franklin has rushed for 1,186 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is Denver West's Damien Nielsen, with 434 yards on 16 catches.

Brandon Martinez has rushed for 918 yards on 94 carries so far this year.

Scott Yates' team led the league in points allowed with 12.
