Softball Recap: Campbell County Cougars vs. Knoxville Central Bobcats
Campbell County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Knoxville Central Bobcats, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 back in March.
Jenna Pinkston was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Another player making a difference was Destiny Rutherford, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Campbell County's record now sits at 4-12. As for Knoxville Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Campbell County will take on Karns at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Knoxville Central, they are taking a road trip to square off against Maryville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bobcats 3.8, the Red Rebels 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
