Softball Recap: Whitney Has No Trouble Against Folsom

While Whitney put up some runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Folsom. Whitney was the clear victor by a 9-0 margin over Folsom. Considering the Wildcats have won four contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Whitney got a great performance from Taylor Cordell as she didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alyssa Flindt, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2024. Tylie Kitchen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Whitney kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Whitney's record is now 8-4. As for Folsom, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4-2.

Coming up, Whitney will head out on the road to square off against Granite Bay at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last five games Granite Bay has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Folsom, they will host Del Oro at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
