Baseball Game Preview: Linn County Mustangs vs. Salisbury Panthers

Linn County is 0-4 against Salisbury since April of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will be playing at home against the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Linn County took a loss when they played away from home last Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Slater 7-6.

Meanwhile, Salisbury waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They had just enough and edged out the Yellowjackets 6-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Salisbury pushed their record up to 18-4 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Linn County, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Linn County couldn't quite finish off Salisbury in their previous meeting back in April and fell 6-4. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
