Recap: Bradenton Christian Panthers vs. Westminster Academy Lions
It was a good run, but The Bradenton Christian Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 18-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of Westminster Academy. Bradenton Christian has struggled against Westminster Academy recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Bradenton Christian still got an impressive performance from Jaden Baker, who gained 91 total yards and a touchdown. Carson Fisher also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Even if they lost, Bradenton Christian's defense still kept up the pressure with five sacks. Westminster Academy's QB won't forget Micah Campbell anytime soon given Campbell sacked him five times.
Westminster Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evan Tempro, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a touchdown. Dwayne Wimbley Jr. also helped out as he racked up 120 receiving yards.
Bradenton Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Westminster Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 9-1.
Bradenton Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Westminster Academy will head out on the road to face off against NSU University at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in NSU University's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five games.
