Football Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Lanier

Lanier hadn't done well against Dacula recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Longhorns walked away with a 42-29 victory over the Falcons. The Longhorns' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Keyon Stemmons went supernova, rushing for 142 yards and four touchdowns. Those four rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Dominic Larocca was another key player, throwing for 154 yards on ten of 15 attempts.

Dacula's loss came despite strong showings from Garrison G Cantrell and Kobi Brown. G Cantrell rushed for 74 yards and one TD on only ten carries, while Brown gained 163 total yards and a touchdown.

The win (which was Lanier's third in a row) raised their record to 3-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 31.7 points over those games. As for Dacula, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Lanier and Dacula will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Longhorns are set to take on their familiar foe Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Dacula will challenge rival Discovery at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
