Softball Recap: Blue Ridge Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Blue Ridge hadn't done well against Chapman recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Tigers blew past the Panthers 11-0. The win was familiar territory for the Tigers, who have now won four games in a row.

Gracie Tompkins was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Madison Jennings, who went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Blue Ridge lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now launched at least two home runs in three consecutive contests.

Blue Ridge's record now sits at 8-1. As for Chapman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Blue Ridge will venture away from home to face off against Berea at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapman, they will head out to take on Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
