Sierra and Fresno Christian are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but not for long. The Chieftains will head out to take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Sierra is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Edison. The Chieftains haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Sierra walked away with the win (and looked especially good in the third set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-18, 25-13.

Sierra got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nicole Gibson out in front who had eight digs and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Fresno Christian made easy work of Arvin on Tuesday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Fresno Christian never let Arvin on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-15, 27-25.

Sierra's record now sits at 32-12. As for Fresno Christian, their record is now 24-18.

Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's contest: Sierra has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 6.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Fresno Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.

Sierra came up short against Fresno Christian in their previous matchup on Thursday, falling 3-1. Can the Chieftains avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
