Recap: Batesville Pioneers vs. Greene County Tech Golden Eagles
The Batesville Pioneers lost against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Batesville was the victim of a tough 57-36 defeat at the hands of Greene County Tech. Batesville has not had much luck with Greene County Tech recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Greene County Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jacey Edrington led the charge by scoring 21 points. The contest was Edrington's third in a row with at least ten points. Weslyn Burnside was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Batesville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-8 record this season. As for Greene County Tech, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-5-1.
Batesville will be playing at home against Paragould at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Paragould is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Greene County Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Valley View will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arkansas Rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Greene County Tech is ranked 22nd).
