League recap: MCCONNEL throws longest pass in league this season for West Forsyth

AAAAAA Region 6 recap September 10, 2013

HAMPTON MCCONNEL and KYRAN OCHOCKI provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Flowery Branch. The longest such play in AAAAAA Region 6 this season, the connection resulted in 62 yards.

GABE PIERCE of West Forsyth ran for the longest rushing play in the league this season against the Falcons last week. PIERCE ran for 55 yards on the play and finished with 103 on the day as his team topped Flowery Branch.

PIERCE was the best running back in the league this week. Teammate TREVOR O'BRIEN added to the ground attack by rushing for 88 yards.

Hayden McLeod put up the best numbers through the air as Lambert bested Roswell. He finished with 9 completions for 121 yards. McLeod's favorite target this week was Tucker Maxwell, who caught 2 passes for 67 yards.

OCHOCKI was the best receiver in AAAAAA Region 6 this week as West Forsyth defeated Lee Shaw's team. OCHOCKI tallied 2 receptions for 74 yards. O'BRIEN helped West Forsyth's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 29 yards.

MCCONNEL was a passing and rushing force as Frank Hepler's team topped the Falcons. He completed 11 passes for 140 yards and also ran for 54 yards.

North Forsyth moved up to 145 from 231 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Raiders climbed the ranks as a result of beating Dawson County 31-0.
