Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Central Catholic Takes a Loss

Gibsonburg hit St. Joseph Central Catholic with a five-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crimson Streaks came up short against the Golden Bears, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

St. Joseph Central Catholic saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Anderson Gill, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base and one run. Drew Pearson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

St. Joseph Central Catholic dropped their record down to 0-13-1 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Gibsonburg, their victory bumped their record up to 11-6.

The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Golden Bears 3.9, the Panthers 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
